ZipZapZop Bio
Baltimore's 30 year + veteran producer & multi-instrumentalist of multi-genre electronic music, Clark ov Saturn, Space Trucking Mogul, returns after 15 years' metamorphosis with deep & introspective yet spacey & consciousness expanding dubstep & bass heavy vibes. Saturn began in Denver's industrial rock scene with LD-50, in the mid 90's, broke off with Recone Helmut to form breakbeat/ drumnbass duo pH10, moved to Brooklyn, NY and toured Europe 23 dates across 7 countries supporting Dr. Israel & Trumystic Sound System in 1999, while releasing vinyl on TerraFormat Records and acting in commercials & films on both US coasts and abroad. pH10 also played NXNE music festival in Toronto, in Montreal, Nashville, Nantucket and all around NYC, including the Knitting Factory, Frying Pan and The Tunnel and were featured on Much Music, Canada, Japanese TV show, Seize the Night and three tracks on the Amped snowboarding videogame soundtrack. (See videos on ZZZ Bio page.)
In 2000, Saturn became a resident DJ at Brooklyn's Halcyon Undercity downtempo party as part of the weekly Deep Unda Brooklyn (DUB) collective and shortly after co-founded Socks and Sandals, releasing minimal techno vinyl and digital on Microcosm Music and playing shows around NYC and the northeast US. Saturn then took a good long break to move to the Catskills mountains, raise a couple children and focus on his ed tech higher ed career.
After moving to Baltimore in 2011 for a job with Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, Saturn finally dusted off Ableton Live a decade later and re-started producing original explorations in dubstep and bass music adjacent genres, steadily releasing new tracks every month for both ZipZapZop and Pill Hill Deans projects while learning and evolving his sound. Since then, Saturn has released dozens of tracks, including international collaborations and remixes as he stands poised to get back into DJ'ing and performing live to bring his ecstatic and contagious positive creative energy to audiences worldwide.
